Sleep is important to every child of any age. This Parent Toolkit video offers ways to help make bedtime easier.

Go To Sleep!

PETER ALEXANDER, reporting:

No matter your child’s age, getting enough sleep is important! You can make bedtime easier with a few tips. Thirty minutes before bed, turn off all devices and leave them outside the bedroom. That means no TV, computer, tablet, texts, nothing! Wind down time gets everyone ready to sleep. Let your child choose parts of the bedtime routine; teeth brushing then PJs or PJs then teeth brushing. Stick to that routine even on weekends! And try not to make bedtime a punishment for misbehavior. Instead, have bedtime be a time to relax together and unplug. It's a great time to read together, or encourage your teen to read. It's ok to be the "sleep police" to get everyone to stick to bedtime rules and routine. After a good night's sleep, everyone can start the day rested and ready.
